Local Currency and Capital Market Development
Local capital market development is a long term and uneven process. Sapience is acutely aware of the challenges of keeping market reforms and initiatives on the agenda given the many competing priorities.
Stakeholder respect and engagement is key to success in these endeavours. Sapience has assisted both the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB 2022-23) and the African Development Bank (AfDB 2024-25) in building their local currency franchises.

Since 2023 Sapience has engaged with think-tanks such as ODI Global to anchor research in the realities of local market development (an upcoming paper in Q42025).
